Rose House Programs

The West Campus House System offers an enhanced in-house programming experience.  Intellectual living-learning programs and social programs are led by the House Professor Dean, Graduate and Undergraduate Resident Fellows, and House Fellows. Flora Rose House offers weekly event series available to all residents in the House.

Meaning-making Mondays

These activities can either take the form of a wellbeing/mindfulness practice or a dialogue/circle based discussion about current events, issues, and core human questions. These occur every two weeks (Mondays)

Rose Cafe

Following House Dinner most Wednesdays, the House Professor Dean hosts an informal conversation hour. The invited speaker is a different guest each week, who will lead a conversation on a relevant topic. These conversations are open to the public and are designed to cover a breadth of topics that allow students to explore fields they have no background in.

Seminar Series

A skill-development, crafting, or professional seminar that occurs every two weeks. (Thursdays or Fridays)

Film Series

Film screenings with a discussion before and after the film, these can also be attending a movie in town or at Cornell Cinema. (Friday nights)

Explore! Events

Opportunities to explore Cornell and the Ithaca Community, including events hosted by student groups or other departments on campus, incorporating community service or civic engagement when possible. (Friday nights or Weekends)
