House Professor-Dean
Sharon Sassler received her Ph.D. in Sociology from Brown University in 1995 and joined the faculty at Cornell University in 2005. She has served as the Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Brooks School of Public Policy and is a professor in the Department of Sociology.
Assistant Dean
Jeff Godowski (they/them) joined Cornell University as the Assistant Dean for Flora Rose House in 2018. Jeff supports the educational mission of Flora Rose House through the supervision of professional, graduate, and undergraduate staff and the administration of the Rose Scholars program.
Administrative Coordinator
Cay Sharp is the Administrative Coordinator for the Flora Rose House. She joined our team in July 2021 after working for nine years in a medical administrative role and as a provider in our community.
House Chef/Manager
Hello! My name is Martin Fennimore, and I’m thrilled to return to Flora Rose House as Head Chef. Having previously served as the Lead Cook here for many years, this feels like a homecoming. I bring with me over 25 years of experience in the restaurant industry, having managed and cooked in a wide variety of establishments, each with its own unique style and flavor.
Assistant Professor, Center for Data Science for Enterprise and Society
AJ Alvero is an Assistant Research Professor with the Center for Data Science for Enterprise and Society. As a computational sociologist, his work incorporates big data and computational methods to answer questions related to culture, language, race and ethnicity, education, technology, and social stratification.
Professor of Policy Analysis and Management
Rosemary Avery is Professor of Policy Analysis and Management in the Brooks School of Public Policy. She joined the Cornell University faculty in 1988, and currently serves as Chairperson of the Department of Policy Analysis and Management (PAM). Dr. Avery served on the Cornell University Board of Trustees 2008-2012 as a Faculty Trustee and serves on several leading university committees.

Director, Natural Areas Cornell University's Botanical Gardens, Arboretum, and Natural Areas
The garden’s natural areas program stewards 3,700 acres of biologically diverse nature preserves, representing nearly all the natural community types and rarest plant habitats in the central Finger Lakes region.
Associate Professor of Applied Economics and Management
Garrick Blalock is an associate professor in the Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management where he teaches managerial economics and firm strategy. His research interest is technology adoption in emerging markets. He has authored several studies examining the link between trade -- imports, exports, and foreign direct investment -- and manufacturing productivity in Southeast Asia.
Director of Labor Education Research School of Industrial and Labor Relations
Kate Bronfenbrenner is the Director of Labor Education Research and a Senior Lecturer at Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations where she does teaching and research on labor, race, and gender, and union and employer strategies in organizing and bargaining in the global economy.
