Keeton House Programs

Life at Keeton House
Keeton House offers an enhanced in-house programming experience. Intellectual living-learning programs are led by the House Professor and Graduate Resident Fellows. Social programs are student-driven by the Dean's Council, Active Citizens, and Undergraduate Resident Fellows.
Participating in house programs is a great way to meet new people, bond with friends and build networks. Some programs may require you to sign up in advance, so check the house office, weekly newsletter, Keeton Courier and posters hanging on floors, and Campus Groups.
Conversations at Keeton
Following House Dinner each Wednesday, the House Professor hosts an informal conversation hour. Each week features a different guest speaker who leads a conversation on a relevant topic. These conversations are open to the public and are designed to cover a breadth of topics that allow students to explore fields in which they may have no background.
Dean's Council
The Keeton House Dean’s Council is a student leadership body within Keeton House, designed to strengthen the residential experience through intentional collaboration, student voice, and community engagement. Members work closely with House leadership to shape initiatives that reflect the values and mission of Keeton House.
Led by a Council Chair and three Committee Leads, the Council oversees:
- Keeton Collective: Programming Committee
- Keeton Library Committee
- Keeton Dining Committee
General members serve on one committee and contribute to cross-house projects throughout the year.
Do you have a great idea for a Keeton House program?
Proposals are reviewed weekly by the Keeton Collective and members of the House Staff. Proposals can be submitted here, and you are encouraged to attend weekly Collective meetings on Mondays after you submit your proposal to assist with the event planning and approval, especially if you are interested in making the event happen or leading the event. If you missed a meeting and would like your proposal to be reviewed by a Staff, please send an email to the Admin, any House Staff or Dean's Council member.
