Cook House Office

The hub of Cook House, located in the lobby of Cook Main, the Cook House office is your first step for assistance. Much more than a place to pick up your mail and send out-going letters, the House Office is where you can find out about what events are happening in the House and how to sign up. The House Office Assistants are also available to help with lockouts, loaning games and kitchenware, or troubleshoot any facilities issues that might come up.

Mail and Packages

Mail is delivered Monday through Saturday, courier (UPS, FedEx, Amazon, etc.) and USPS mail is typically delivered in the afternoon. Please use the format below when addressing your mail to campus:

Lockouts 

During House Office hours, come to the House Office window for assistance. After hours, you will need to call the GRF on call for assistance.

Standard Hours

Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 8:00 pm
Saturday 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
Sunday 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

If the house office is not open, the GRF on call can be reached from the yellow campus phones located outside the main doorways or from your cell at 607-327-1351. Please note that house office hours are subject to change prior to and during academic breaks. 

Summer Hours: Mon-Fri - 9am-4pm

Cook House Facilities

Cook House was designed to support a vibrant intellectual residential community. It has five residential areas: Cook-Main, North Baker, Baker Tower, Boldt Hall, and Boldt Tower. Residents of Cook House have full access to all five areas. The dining and common areas between next to the House Office of Cook-Main are open to the larger Cornell community during public hours. 

Cook-Main

  • House Office (mail room and service center), Dining Room, House Professor & Assistant Dean Offices are all located on the first floor of Cook-Main. The House Professor Apartment is also located in Cook-Main where many events take place that are open to the community by invitation.
  • Common Room (with a piano), Seminar Room (with a television for projection), Library (with a CUPrint printer), Study Rooms, TV lounge, and a Guest Suite for visiting Guests. The common and study spaces are open for individual and group study, hanging out, and House events. 
  • A pantry with a refrigerator, microwave, sink, and toasters sits just past the entrance of the Dining Hall. The pantry is available for Cook residents with a code and is stocked by Cornell dining with coffee and snacks.
  • Laundry room, Library, study rooms, a music room with a piano are on the ground floor of Cook-Main.
  • On each floor of Cook-Main there are two study alcoves with tables and chairs for quiet study, and a trash and recycling room.
  • The 3rd and 4th floors of Coo-Main have kitchenettes with a fridge, microwave, stove.
