Molly Ryan is the Director of Cornell Cinema, Cornell’s beloved, on-campus film exhibition program, which is housed in the historic Willard Straight Theatre. She cares deeply about building community, expanding worldviews, and inspiring interdisciplinary exchange through collective encounters with the art of film, and feels very lucky to get to watch movies for work.

Molly graduated from Harvard College in 2014 with a concentration in History & Literature and she received an MLitt in Film Studies from the University of St Andrews, Scotland, in 2022. Before coming to Cornell, she oversaw public engagement programs at the Harvard Art Museums in Cambridge, Massachusetts, served as a student curator for the inaugural Sands International Film Festival of St Andrews, and directed events for the On the Rocks Arts Festival, the largest student-run festival in the UK. 

She is very proud to have grown up in Dorchester, Massachusetts, and enjoys spending time with her family, swimming in the ocean, taking walks at the Cornell Botanic Gardens, and talking about books, movies, art, and food.
