Lorenzo  is a Professor of Computer Science. His research investigates the theory and practice of distributed computing, the discipline behind everything “cloud”.  Before doing his CS Ph.D. (at Cornell!), he was a Physics undergraduate at the University of Bologna, Italy; before then, he spent 5 years learning ancient Greek and Latin —sadly, all that is left is the love for Physics and the Classics. In addition to teaching and to his research, he is passionate about classical music and italian motorcycles (preferably red).
