Kerry Shaw
Professor, Department of Neurobiology and Behavior

Professor Kerry Shaw is an evolutionary biologist in the Department of Neurobiology and Behavior and the College of Arts and Sciences. She studies the nature and origin of species, focusing on genetics of behavior and phylogenies of closely related species that provide information about the behavioral changes that diverge early in speciation. Dr. Shaw’s laboratory focuses on studies of reproductive behavior and the evolution of mate recognition among closely related species of Hawaiian crickets. She teaches courses in animal behavior and evolution.
In her free time, she enjoys hiking, skiing, music, theater, good food and conversation! She lives in Ithaca with her family, dog, cat and lizard.
