Farhad Taraz is a Ph.D. Candidate in Philosophy. Being a nomad has been an indispensable part of his life. He is grateful that joining the Bethe family in 2021 marked a significant chapter in his relatively long dwelling in Ithaca.

The academic path that brought Farhad to Cornell was rather unconventional; it began with civil engineering and led to a PhD program in philosophy. What connects these diverse experiences are his fundamental questions and interests. His current research, which exemplifies these interests, focuses on the ethics of influence, particularly in public political discourse.
