Dale R. Corson House Professor-Dean

Christopher Alabi is a science-loving, soccer-watching, ping-pong-playing professor who calls Cornell home—both professionally and personally. Born in Nigeria, schooled in England, and educated across NYU, Caltech, and MIT, Chris eventually landed in Ithaca in 2013, where he’s been teaching, mentoring, and researching ever since.

Assistant Dean

Perdita grew up in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and immigrated to the U.S. in 2008. While her family settled in Chicago, she attended the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut and earned her B.S. and M.B.A degrees in International Business and Accounting. After college, Perdita served as an AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America), in Connecticut, North Carolina, and New York.

Administrative Coordinator

Mason Averett holds a B.A in Culture and Communications from Ithaca College. Prior to joining Hans Bethe House he worked in the prosthetics industry, coached rowing, and trained as a boatbuilder. He enjoys using his experience to increase accessibility for all, and to help folks reach their goals.

House Chef/Manager

Chef Kevin Moore began his career at Cornell Dining in 1989, as a dish machine operator at Robert Purcell Marketplace Eatery. His experience and career only grew from there, as he served in many roles, working his way up through the organization and forming critical partnerships with his team.

Brian is a seasoned international energy industry executive with extensive experience in Oil, Natural Gas, Chemicals, and renewables in the United States, Asia, and Europe.

Graduate Resident Fellow

Aalayna (she/her) is a  Ph.D. Candidate in Natural Resources & Environment and hails from the Great Lakes State of Michigan where she spent summers playing softball, swimming, and burning marshmallows around the campfire with her family.  She is ecstatic to continue to grow with the Hans Bethe community!

Assistant Professor, Economics

Nico serves as an Assistant Professor at the Brooks School of Public Policy and the Department of Economics. He is thrilled to join the Bethe House community as a House Fellow in Fall 2023!

Senior Lecturer, Office of Undergraduate Biology

Darlene Campbell is a Senior Lecturer in the Office of Undergraduate Biology, where she teaches courses within the biological sciences curriculum. Originally trained as a visual physiologist, she now focuses her research on innovative approaches to student learning and assessment, aiming to enhance educational outcomes and engagement in the life sciences.

Executive Director of Admissions and Recruitment, College of Engineering

Dr. Campbell has worked in college admissions at Cornell University since 1997, managing the Engineering Admissions Office as well as the athletic admissions process for Cornell University over that period of time.

Undergraduate Resident Fellow

Shelby is a senior in the College of Arts and Sciences, majoring in Government with a focus on International Relations.
