Perrine Pepiot is an Associate Professor in the Sibley School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering specializing in energy science, with a background in Aerospace Engineering. Her main interest is in developing models and simulation software to better understand how chemistry and fluid mechanics work together in order to design better engines and reactors for a variety of applications, from combustion and recycling all the way to space propulsion and reentry. She also loves aeronautics, and have been teaching the MAE aeronautics courses ever since she joined Cornell in 2011. Before that, she was a research scientist at the National Laboratory of the Rockies (formerly NREL) in Colorado, working on how to convert biomass into usable biofuels. When not working, you can often find her at the Lindseth Climbing Wall, where she teaches PE rock climbing classes, or running far and slow on one of the many beautiful trails around the Ithaca area. Her household now has more cats than humans, with one bearded dragon thrown on top for good measure (She may also have adopted some of the “exhibits” of Insectapalooza after their last event...)
