Vision of Engagement

In Cook, we envision a House where students feel known, valued, and at home; where every floor functions as a community; where intellectual life is accessible, engaging, and woven into all of our House activities; and where House Dinners strengthen a sense of belonging.

Two major themes guide how House Leadership realizes this vision of engagement:

  • Connection: A culture of care & belonging where students feel known and supported
  • Curiosity: A living-learning environment with regular opportunities to explore diverse perspectives, disciplines, and cultures through engagement with House Fellows & visiting scholars

These themes are brought to life through the creation of vibrant spaces throughout Cook House; events that inspire connection & curiosity; House Dinners that foster ritual, belonging, and joy; and intellectual engagements that spark curiosity.
