Hi! My name is Talia and I'm a Ph.D. student in the Department of Communication. My research examines how emerging technologies (like AI) are represented in media, popular culture, and policy. I also study (and spend lots of time on) social media platforms like TikTok! Previously, I've conducted research at Microsoft Research, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), New York University, and Harvard. 
Before starting grad school, I worked as a copywriter in creative advertising agencies in New York City. I love discussing all things pop culture-- from reality tv to sports. I also DJ on Ithaca community radio and am the grad student representative for Cornell Cinema. 
I'm a proud graduate of the University of Oregon (BA) (go ducks!) and NYU's Tisch School of the Arts (MA).
